Who we are

What we collect

We only collect what a freight shipment actually requires. Depending on how you use the site that may include:

• Identity and contact details — name, email address, telephone number, and company name, company number and VAT number where you provide them.
• Shipment details — origin and destination, cargo description, package type and count, weights and dimensions, declared value, dates and any notes you add.
• Documents you upload — commercial invoices, packing lists, identification and customs paperwork attached to a quote request.
• Technical data — IP address (stored only as a salted hash for rate limiting), and the pages you request, in our server logs.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To prepare quotes and carry out bookings — performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering one.
• To complete customs and transport formalities — compliance with a legal obligation, and performance of the contract.
• To prevent abuse and rate-limit forms — our legitimate interests in protecting the service.
• To send you shipment updates about a booking you have placed — performance of the contract.
• To send marketing email — only where you have opted in, and you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only where a shipment or the service requires it, and only the minimum needed:

• Carriers, airlines, shipping lines, handling agents and customs brokers involved in moving or clearing your cargo.
• Customs and border authorities in the origin and destination countries, where the law requires a declaration.
• Resend, which delivers our transactional email.
• Our hosting and database providers, which store the site and its records.

International transfers

Because we move cargo between the United Kingdom and Africa, shipment and consignee details are necessarily transferred to parties in the destination country in order to clear and deliver the goods.

Where a service provider processes data outside the UK we rely on adequacy regulations or on standard contractual clauses with appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

Shipment and customs records are retained for the period required by UK tax and customs law — currently six years from the end of the relevant accounting period.

Quote requests that do not become shipments are kept for 24 months. Rate-limiting records are kept for hours, not days.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your data, have inaccurate data corrected, have data erased where we have no continuing lawful basis to hold it, restrict or object to processing, receive your data in a portable form, and withdraw consent for marketing.

To exercise any of these, email us. We will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Security

All traffic is served over HTTPS with HSTS. Uploads are restricted by type, size and content signature, and are stored under generated filenames. Access to submitted customer records is restricted.

No system is perfectly secure. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your rights we will notify you and the ICO as required.

Children

This service is intended for business and adult personal shipping. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use personal data we will update this page and the date above.
